I was horribly confused for the first half of this record before I realized that this was Blind Pilot, not Three Mile Pilot. Dumbass. Anyways, now that I know where I am again, let’s get down to it. Blind Pilot is solid Americana. Think Iron and Wine, but not hipster. Relaxing vocal melodies and grandpas, I mean acoustic, guitars are pretty much the extent of the album. You know what, here, imagine one of them Midwest farm-town proms that you imagine being in barns, and they have the bands play up in the loft, with the drummer sitting on a hay bale. Well, these are the slow songs that they play. I don’t know if that sounds enticing to you, and if you can take out the Paramore CD out for an hour, give ‘em a spin. Blind Pilot is some seriously good stuff.
